COPYCATS Revealed: Robin Thicke & Pharrell Williams were just found guilty by an 8 person jury in LA for using Marvin Gaye’s lines from “Got to Give It Up” in their 2013 smash hit “Blurred Lines”.
This follows deliberations since this past Thursday and full week of testimony featuring both Thicke and Williams, including a performance by the former.
Marvin Gaye
The Gayes were issued a win to the staggering tune of 7.3 Million Dollars. The sale of “Blurred Lines” will presumably come to a hault noted Gayes attorney Richard Busch. The legacy of Marvin Gaye remains fully intact despite his demise 30 years ago after succumbing to a gunshot inflicted by his dad.
Pharrell WIlliams
NBC’s The Voice host Pharrell most definitely wrote the song from his heart and admitted to including the flavor and feelings of Gaye in much of his music.
