CeCe Winans was honored at the 20th Anniversary of the First Ladies High Tea at the Beverly Hilton. When asked on the Red Carpet about the event she stated “I am here today because of the love of God, I sing because of the love of God, and really the answer to all of our problems is the love of God”.
CeCe was later surprised with the Spirit Award which was presented by her niece Deborah Joy Winans who stars on Own’s Greenleaf. This was a wonderful event which had about 1,000 attendees and also showed their philanthropy when they awarded five high school girls $1,000 scholarships.
“The First Lady High Tea” is the premiere event of the Black Church and its community. Other honorees included Congresswoman Karen Bass and actress Wendy Raquel Robinson.
