Paisley Fields

“The Door”

Glitter And Sawdust

I love Paisley Fields. Paisley Fields are a queer country band, unapologetic about pushing boundaries and seeking inspiration in the unexpected. Though lead singer James Wilson is inspired by country musicians like Dolly Parton and Gram Parsons, he wanted Paisley Fields’ lyrics to reflect a modern world. In this sense, he definitely succeeds.  Paisley Fields has that great Parton pop sensibility with Parsons whole country rock feel, before it was Californialized.  Paisley Fields is James Wilson – lead vocals, piano, hammond, & rhodes; Willie Huston – banjo & backing vocals; Steve Mayone – bass, guitar, & backing vocals; Stephen Sunshine – guitar & backing vocals; Jeremy Moses Curtis – guitar; Matt Doctor – drums; Brian Vegh – fiddle; Jack Lynskey – backing vocals & duet on Can’t Stop Our Love; David Cohn – backing vocals; Eric Bazilian – mandolin and melodica on Where Do The Children Go.  This is a band I have followed for a while, and they just keep getting better.  Wilson writes songs that we all can identify with.  Go to https://thepaisleyfields.bandcamp.com to pre-order their album.  It’s worth it.
